Graduation

On Wednesday night we went to the Pakuranga sailing club for graduation. Graduation was really fun and amazing we really enjoyed ourselves. We had dinner and a couple of dances. Every girl had amazing time the girls looked really beautiful. And all the boys looked really handsome.

I have done this to reflect my learning journey. We have done many sports and many learning things. We have had a really educating year. I have achieved a lot of my goals like building up my confident skills. I have joined in on a lot of sports and other things. We have enjoyed our time in Panmure Bridge School and we have loved our time in Panmure Bridge School. I have spend 4 years at Panmure Bridge School that may sound a long time but it went really fast and I don't really want to leave. Thanks to all my beautiful and handsome teachers that made school really fun.

Labyrinth

Yesterday and today we have been about a 80's movie called "Labyrinth" It was a fun time learning about the shot types through out the movie.  We had to write what the best part of the movie for us. My was when sarah gave the teddy bear to toby & when there were farting noises.

Rockets - Juanita

We have had a amazing couple of days at Tamaki College. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Ferguson and Mr Dunn for having us again. We all enjoyed blowing up the rockets because it was a fun experiment and everyone had fun. It was really great to see how far our rockets went. Some of our rockets went faring then other's I think this because of our adjustments. We had a drone that had a camera on it & it was controlled by the I pad that is in Mrs Kirkpatrick. It look really fun to control.....

Maths

Today we have been learning about what less than and greater than is. It was find of confusing and thenour teacher told us about the less than being a L. It was a really fun activity and it was easy because we were working at our own pace.

Tahuna Torea - By Juanita & Tiare

Here is a Film about the Tahuna Torea trip that Juanita and I created. For the past few weeks we have been learning about God-wits migrating to New Zealand. God-wits/Kuaka Bird come to New Zealand to have a rest and when the time comes they will migrate to another country. The Kuaka Bird migrates to places because of low food sources/refueling stops. Everyone had lots of fun and learnt interesting stuff about the Kuaka Bird/God-wit.

Kuaka Migration

Today we have been focusing on Kuaka Migration. We have been working collaboratively so that we can all talk about it and share our learning. We have been using the mutilmortal site because It was an easier site to use and because everyone thinks it is an easier site to use.

Rockets

Last week on Friday it was an amazing day. We all participated in creating the rockets and everyone did enjoy themselves which is a great thing. Everyone showed positive attitude we learnt some great things about rocket like adjusting the fins and how many fins you would like to put on them.  We would like to give a big Thank You to Mr Dunn for having us.

Hi Juanita

Reading

For the past few weeks we have been learning about pigeons, in reading we have been spilt into 4 groups our group is called "D group". In our group we have been working collaboratively and getting on task. In our group was Jessie,Jane,Latham,Harlem,Ma'ata,Juanita,Lyndon and I. Basically we were deciding if "Pigeons are pest or Pigeons are special?" for our group we thought that pigeons are special and some say 50/50 because pigeons were helpful in the WW1

(World War 1) by sending messages. There was one pigeon called Cher Ami she saved 947 soldiers in the war but now pigeons guano is everywhere and 

Hockey

Hockey today was really interesting and fun we all participated and joined in. 
Then hold the coloured bit with our right hand, we had to move the ball side to side with the hockey stick. Then we had played a game called traffic lights, there was 6 different colours. Green - dribble the ball, Orange - stand still and move the ball side to side with the stick, Red - stop and make sure the ball is still, Purple - move backwards while dribbling the ball, Silver - dribble the ball fast, Blue - use the stick to move the ball by spinning. When we played that we had to play a game of hockey, we had to try and get the ball in between the cones. Then we had to hold the ball in our right hand, and the stick in our left hand, then we had to throw the ball and hit it with the stick. I enjoyed our first session of hockey. We had to dripple the ball and also stop the ball when we had to. We had a small game of octopus and ball rush it was really interesting because everyone was joining in. 

Inferring

This activity was really fun because it was really easy and it was really fun. It was about predicting what the character would do. It was easy to know what they were going to do because it was really straight forward.

Godwit

We have been learning about Godwit birds. I have learnt some new things which is really great and I was really excited to learn about knew creatures that i did not know about. We are really amazed by how many weight they lose by travelling it is amazing they lose half of there body weight can you believe that!!!!
I worked collaboratively with Afu and Charlize because i don't have my own working device I had to work hard and help anyway I could.

Paper Plane

Today we have been flying our paper planes. We had to work collaboratively. We had to pick what we liked from there planes then make it into one plane. We had a pretty long plane but it didn't go as far as  we would like it to but either way it was not as bad as we thought it would be.

Timeline

This timeline is about Kingsford - Smith. I had to compare it between Jean Battens there was the time differences and the events that happened in their life. We had to make sure the dates were accurate. I used a website called popplet because it was an easy way of using it.  I hope you learn something in this timeline about Kingsford - Smith.

Muti-Modal

We are really thankful that Mrs Anderson created this learning site because it is a easy way to find our learning. It is easy to find were we need to go and what we need to do. This layout is really helpful and less stressful because we don't have to go through every page on a google presentation. This was really great and really interesting because it is really awesome way to do our learning. Thank you Mrs Anderson for putting in the extar work.

Paper Planes

Yesterday we were trailing how a paper plane works. Our task was a silent task where no one could speak. We were getting our instructions from a presentation we all had to read the instruction's properly.  We all had to work collaboratively. Our first challenge was to search the internet for ideas which we all did and then we created it ourselves.

Jean Battens

Today June and Myself collaborated together to make this popplet based on Jean Batten. This is based on Jean Battens life time and what she did between when she was born and when she died. Touch

Today at our second session we were learning to do a 2 man drive. It was fun and encouraging to play this game. We had to run down the cones and plant the ball we couldn't drop it because it would be a drop and run which means a penalty.

Reading

Our learning intention was to follow the instruction and to read the question's properly.

Last week we started off with doing challenges that our teacher gave us. This practice was for the testing in the three week. Our first challenge was to read the text and then write a 25 word summarize. We then had our second challenge and that was too read the text and too fill in the blanks in.  

Cyber Smart

Today a group of people went to our school library to meet a lady named Mrs Ogilvie. She came to talk about being Cyber Smart. Unfortunately I did not go but my partner told me what she learnt.She showed me a site that is a site that can help you with everything. The first site we focusing on was called Britannica School it is like google but it is written for secondary and intermediate students. This will help us out alot more because it is written for people like my age to understand.

Into the book

Today at reading we have been focusing on what we need to practice on. On my opinion I think I need to work on my summaries because I am not confident in using them. 

Rhythm Interactive

Today we had a special visit from Johnny & Lucy. They didn't actually introduce them selves after quiet awhile. They said they did not introduce themselves at the start of the session because actions are stronger then words. They sang '' together we will make a change'' but in a different language. I learnt that when you are hit someone on the drum it makes a different sound. Everyone took part in this lesson including the teachers.

Touch Rugby

At touch rugby we learnt to put the ball under our legs and step over it when we have been touch. Our Coach was really helpful. We are lucky to have our kiwi sport has touch rugby because some of the kids will be playing interschool touch rugby.

Hydration

We have been noticing everyone has been forgetting to bring water to school. We had to research the importance of staying hydrated. We have also been researching the effects of when you are dehydrated. We also been learning the benefit's of drinking water instead of sugary drinks. 

Graduation dance

This term we are going to be practising our graduation dance. Our dance teacher for this week was Sonja. She was just a reliever teacher. Our session was an hour and it was really fun. We were practising a cha cha cha dance and a rock an roll dance. The dances were really challenging and we all had to stay focused and stay on task. It was kind of a struggle to  remember the dance.

Narrative Writing

Today we were focusing around narratives writing because next term in week 3 we will be writing about narratives. We used the narrative criteria. The 1st sentence is about who the main character is. Then the 2nd is about where he/she lives. The 3rd is about sentence describes the characters talent. The 4th sentence is about the problem. The 5th  sentence is about how the character felt and then the last sentence is about how the problem is solved. I worked collaboratively with Javeylor and Evelyn. I think we will do really well and good in our writing assessments. 

Maths / QUIZIZZ

We played a game called quizziz. We played against each other including the teacher's. It was really interesting because we were practising our basic facts and our time's tables.

Visit to the Panmure library

Last week on Friday we meet an amazing funny person named Stig Wemyss. Stig Wemyss is an voice artist he reads Andy Griffins books. He talked about the borrow box. The barrow box is an digital website. He really hooked us in with his humour. He gave everyone a little green poster and then he signed it. He has a website www.stig.com. He seemed really cool and amazing. We had heaps of fun and he make us laugh by reading his story.

Maths

I have been practising my maths decimals. This website shows us how we got it correct and how we could of worked it out. This website helps us learn knew things and it teaches us knew strategies. We are really challenging ourselves because it is harder then it looks.  

Can Do

We have been learning how to do our can do's. We think that the teacher are a great job because they are helping us do our work. We have been introduced. This can do is about sad,happy angry,shy and silly. As you get up the cline you will found more powerful words.

Maths

I have been learning about decimals. Decimals are really easy once you get to know them. It's kind of the same as fraction. In my opinion I think that decimals and fraction are the easiest but when it comes to any other maths it's really hard. But if I keep on trying I will get there

 Today I have read a text about a dance called tinikling. I have found out what to look for in a informed text. I was learning about PIE (Persuade, Informed and Entertain).

Duffy Assembly

Today we had a special assembly. We  had to be really respectful to him he was really funny he made nearly everybody in our class. This was a good feeling and we were really lucky to have him at our school. We would also like to say a big thanks to main freight for giving our books.

Maths

Today we have been doing maths equations. Our maths question were based on fraction's. I was working collaboratively with  my mate named Jasmine.  Fractions wasn't her best subject so I helped her. It was really interesting knowing what she does know and what we had to work on. We both had things we had to work on but we then worked together and helped each other out.

Readthoery

We have been on a website that improves our reading. The website is called Read theory. Read theory is great for our reading because it helps us answer question and also because it test our comprehensive skills. This activity is a fun way of learning and it is digital. We then get a choice of answer usually we have to choose between 4 answer. It is a educating site that helps our reading improve. We are on this site daily to help us in our reading and our reading Comprehension skills. Thank you for finding this site Mrs Kirk patrick. All of my teacher are really amazing in our school because they are really concentrating on our education and I would like to say a big thank you to all my teachers.

Cross Country

Today we had cross country unfortunately I could not run but I encouraged the other children that were running. It was really really interesting because the people that were running were really trying there hardest and concentrated on the run. There were some of the kids on the sideline cheering for the other player's.  Heaps of the children were really supportive and great to the other kids that were running. All the children are amazing because they all know how to make people feel like they are doing a great job which everybody that ran was doing a great job. I am so proud of my class because they did a lot of training and then it paid off for them because they learnt to pace themselves. It is honestly amazing how they learnt how to make it there and on there last lap to run as fast as they could.

WELL DONE TO EVERY BODY THAT GAVE IT A TRY!!!!!! KEEP IT UP AND NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!

Maths

In maths today we were learning how to reorganise decimals.  Our learning intention was to learn about decimals in one place and to order decimals (biggest to smallest). We notice that if we know a strategy that we know we can use it to make it easy for us. Did you know decimals are kind of like fractions? In my opinion I think that decimals are easy that I know more about them. Decimals have a tenth and a whole just like fractions. Decimals are amazing and I love decimals because it is great a fun. We then had to write the answer in our book. I really enjoyed our maths session today. I liked collaborating and sharing my ideas with the people I was siting with.

Sketch Notes

We have been using sketch note so that we can record our learning in our own ways using pictures, words or even numbers. Sketch note helps us make a learning story in our own words. Sketch notes also help us to make connections. One interesting fact that I learnt about sketch notes is that it doesn't have to perfect because only I need to understand it. 

Our first attempt at sketch note was about question because we already knew about the topic. Our second topic was about the athletics.

Cross Country Practicing

We have been practicing our cross country.  We learnt how to pace ourselves and start off smoothly and then when it comes to our last lap we had to finish off strong. We started with one lap then we added up another lap every week. It was really challenging and hard but we told ourselves never to give up.

Riper Rugby

Yesterday we played a few games against a few teams. We really enjoyed ourselves because we had the team spirit. We had fun and it was really educating having Otahuhu College. Our school was really lucky to have them train our teams. We lost against Point England Glen Brae . We won Against Tamaki Primary and Sylvia Park . We had a draw with Bailey Road and Sylvia Park the frist time we played them.

The rumbling noise of a dinosaurs rumbling stomach

My box is fashioned from the diamonds found in the clear river and the gold found in the mines and the crystals that come straight from the mountains , with _pieces of magic paper that can fly into the sky_ on the lid and my darkest secret in the corners.

Its hinges are it destroy any body that tries to interact with my secret boxes.

I shall cherish and care for all the things in my box forever and ever.

This is my poem. It is about what I would put on my book. I really enjoyed doing this because it was really interesting and I had fun making up things. It was really weird reading it out loud but I like it because I am weird. It is a awkward and funny poem I hope you enjoy reading it.

Hauora

For the past weeks we have been learning about what Hauora is and how it can relate to an athlete. I learnt that if one wall falls apart the whole house will fall apart which relates to an athlete. I also learnt that the 4 walls ( Whare tapa wha ) names are Taha Wairua, Taha Whanau, Taha Hinegnaro, Taha Tinana. Each of the walls stand for something which are Mental and emotional wellbeing, Physical well being, Social Wellbeing, and spiritual wellbeing. In this challenge we also did our pulse rate to see how many pulse rates we have in one minute.

Comparing My Photo

We have been learning about high jump. I learnt that we have to have bent knees and arm to legs. It was really hard to do a couple of things such as the toes pointed. We had to compare our photo with a athletics photo and to see what we have to practice on.

Warriors

Today we had a few visitors from the warriors team. Alice, Ryan Huffman, John Palavi and Georgia came to visit us we had so much fun. They introduced a few games. One game was about sleeping, health and well being, hydration and belonging. There were some people that got spot prizes. We got split in too 2 groups. Both groups got a chant, Ryans chant was Hoffer and John's was J.P. We all screamed our heart out so that we could answer the question. We all felt so competitive  . We all had great fun and  I hope they did too. Georgia was the host (She told us what to do) We loved having there entertainment because it was really fun and amazing. It was really fun and cool and I hope that they felt that it was cool for them too.  I hope they feel like they are welcomed. For belonging we had to answer which groups we belong in such as family, Sports teams and schools. 

Olympic Art

Yesterday we created a piece of art. Our challenge was to collaboratively work together. Our focus was on sportsmanship we had to help each other and make sure everyone knew what to do. We had to use our strength to help other that needed help. We had to use pastel, black PVA and athlete silhouettes.

Long Jump

We have been learning the qualities you need to know for long jump. We learnt that we need to have bent elbows, bent knees and jump off 1 heel and land on two feet. We also learnt that if we jump off one foot and land on too feet it feels like we don't go very far but in fact we go very far.

Olympic Venue

We have been learning to consider both sides of provocation so that we can have an informed opinion. Mrs Anderson asked us to think about the 2 sides of the argument. To make our informed opinion we had to give reasons why we say yes or why we say no. My DLO says that I picked that the money should be spend more wisely.

Writing

Today we were learning how to find the language features using the article that our teacher gave us. I worked collaboratively with my partner June. We understood that there were nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. We enjoyed working together. We have been trying to understand how other people write advertising so that when we are older we will be prepared to write a advertisement.
