Maths

Today we have been doing maths equations. Our maths question were based on fraction's. I was working collaboratively with  my mate named Jasmine.  Fractions wasn't her best subject so I helped her. It was really interesting knowing what she does know and what we had to work on. We both had things we had to work on but we then worked together and helped each other out.

Comparing My Photo

We have been learning about high jump. I learnt that we have to have bent knees and arm to legs. It was really hard to do a couple of things such as the toes pointed. We had to compare our photo with a athletics photo and to see what we have to practice on.

What Might’ve Have Killed Dinosaurs?

(introduction)

Dinosaurs were real before we were even born, suddenly they all disappear in thin air. Could it be a volcano eruption, a meteorite, or an Ice Age? As you know their were some dinosaurs bones left behind in the dirt. 75% of plants and animals on earth went extinct and all of the land dinosaurs were wiped off the earth. What happened? Who or What caused their extinction?

(Paragraph 1)

Dinosaurs have been roaming around 135 millions years filling every piece of land including oceans, and skies.  What is Ice Age? Ice age is when everything turns into ice including grassland and oceans opened water. A lot of dinosaurs died because of the Ice Age. 75% of plants and animals on earth went extinct.  There was a key mystery towards of what made them extinct. There was a strange object that found in layers of ash and rocks, and it found out that it was an asteroid buried beneath the ash and rocks layers.

(Paragraph 2)

We then discovered that VOLCANO’S could have caused the extinction of dinosaurs. The volcano’s erupted more than they do now.  Which means if they were near a volcano and it erupted they would've burned    down. We are counted lucky because the volcanoes don’t erupt as much anymore Sadly we can not change the fact they are extinct.  As much little kids love dinosaurs

Meteor disconnect when it touches oxygen. When it is in space it is in one but then it splits in the air. If it doesn’t break on the surface it brakes on something. Back in the days when there was dinosaurs it sometimes would fall on them.

(Conclusion)

This is our Information Report about How dinosaurs ended up extinct. However as we are saying that dinosaurs are extinct we are not saying all replies  are. The tuatara is not extinct.

We have been learning to create a Information report. We had 3 choices to write about 1. Is Big Foot Real? 2. Are UFO'S real? and finally How did dinosaurs end up extinct? We have chosen to do How Did Dinosaurs end up extict. Did you know meteor wiped out 75% of plants and animals species.

Maths - Juanita & Afu

Yesterday we did an activity which help us on our maths time tables. We found it abit hard doing our 6,7 and 8 time tables hard so we tried to split the number into 5's to make it easier for us. After we did this activity we found our time tables way easier.

Mathletic Run

Today we played a game called mathletics run. Luckily Evelyn and I came first. We had a lot of fun. It was a game that you got a lot of maths questions then you would have been running around the courts. We then had to run back with the correct answer to get the new question. We had to keep answering the question until we had finished our bag fulled with maths questions. We looked carefully at the question. We went to look at our maths tumble to remind us what we learnt this term. We learnt about basic facts and place value.

Home Learning - Statue Of Librety

For home learning we were studying about the statue of liberty and this is my DLO showing what i found out about it it. I answered the 5 W's questions and made my owns ones. i found this home learning easy because i already knew a little about the statue of liberty

“There was money everywhere" said Afu She then picked it up and went around asking “Does this money belong to you?” She then ran to see if anyone if anyone belonged to the money. She was running fast as fast as a cheater. As night  fell Afu was  she was getting pretty angry because of this event she then decided to leave the money there.

“There is money everywhere!" said Afu. She then picked it up and went around asking people “Does this money belong to you?” She was running to see if anyone owned this cash. She was running as fast as a cheater. As night  fell Afu was  getting pretty angry. She then decided to leave the money at her house to spend with her family and herself “BOOM YAH! Money money.” Yelled Afu.

This is my Quick write I have done with my writing group. There might be a little bit of mistakes but I know that if I edit it. It would be much better but it's not. I only had like 5 minutes to write. If I have a bit of time to edit it.

Informed Decision

L.I:To Make an informed choice based on information.

We were all taking part and putting in reason why we could change the flag Or Why we shouldn't change the flag.  One of the reason to change the flag was that this is a new generation but one of the good reasons for the flag not being changed is that there is a piece of history meaning. We had to listen and show respect to the speaker. We also had to research some reason why to change the flag. We had to really respect each others opinions we really did not want our class mates to get offended.

I think this game was really easy because it had question I could answer but I think if i went up a level i would probable the answer wrong but i just need to practice to get the question right.

Can Dos

We were making word clines. If we do this activity we improve our writing skill by learning new word but we also can use these words in our writing.

Baking Soda & Vinegar

This is what the baking soda and the vinegar turned out to be. My group and I thought that the vinegar smelt really weird. Actually we thought it smelt yuck. We all touch it that wasn't a wise move because our hands smelt yucky too. 

Science

I have been doing science with my class mates. We have made a experiment with baking soda and then we did Oobleck which was really interesting and fun. I think we did well following the instruction. I think this because no one did something we suppose to do

Protect

 We have been practicing our place value. I have been trying hard on this and it paid off because i am doing really great. I am glad that i got 60 out of 60 right which means that I can go on to the next stage. Which is stage 6 as you should no but yeah.
