Reading

Our learning intention was to follow the instruction and to read the question's properly.

Last week we started off with doing challenges that our teacher gave us. This practice was for the testing in the three week. Our first challenge was to read the text and then write a 25 word summarize. We then had our second challenge and that was too read the text and too fill in the blanks in.  

Authors Purpose

 

 Today I have read a text about a dance called tinikling. I have found out what to look for in a informed text. I was learning about PIE (Persuade, Informed and Entertain).

Readthoery

We have been on a website that improves our reading. The website is called Read theory. Read theory is great for our reading because it helps us answer question and also because it test our comprehensive skills. This activity is a fun way of learning and it is digital. We then get a choice of answer usually we have to choose between 4 answer. It is a educating site that helps our reading improve. We are on this site daily to help us in our reading and our reading Comprehension skills. Thank you for finding this site Mrs Kirk patrick. All of my teacher are really amazing in our school because they are really concentrating on our education and I would like to say a big thank you to all my teachers.

Reading - Inferring

Today we have been learning about inference/inferring. We played a game called into the book. We enjoyed playing this game it was fun but also educating. We learnt what inference/inferring means and when we use this. Every time we got one inference right a quarter of the picture.

Reading

I have been playing some reading games. Playing these games should improve my reading skills. I got most of them  rightexcept one of my question. I think I did really well and I think I should try to get 100% so that I know I can be the best that I can be.

Super Smog in China - Reading

This week for Reading we had to make connections about Smog in China. We found out there are 3 types of connection there is 1. Text to self. 2. Text to world and finally there is the text to text. We then had to use the comment tool to make a connection that we had. Since we were talking about smog we had to write a comment about a time that we remember when we read this story about smog. I remembered my friends and I were walking through the fog when read smog.

Reading

This week we have been comparing Ping-He school with Panmure bridge school. We had to include that Ping-He is a boarding school and how they have dorm moms. We had to include the difference's and the thing that are the same. We found out that in Ping-He school for PE you have to do 100 Sit up's 100 Push up's and they had to run around there track 50 times. 

Synthesis

We have been learning how to synthesis. Synthesis is when you put knowledge you now and knew knowledge you just learnt then we put it in a opinion/Understanding. Toady we had to work collaboratively. We had different opinions about giant panda's after we researched about it.

Synthesising

Today in reading my partner and I have been synthesising about gorilla. First we had to start off with what we already knew about gorilla then we wrote down what we found out and then what our new thinking was. When we started we thought gorilla were just hairy fat eating banana's apes were just aggressive but when we got to learn more we found out that they were endangered. When we heard that they were endangered we thought we should care and respect them, show how important they are and prevent them from extinction. In this activity I learnt to synthesise about gorilla's.

Synthesizing

We have created a cover for a biography of George washington using what we knew about them and what we found out about after researching. The new information help us think about what there picture would look like and what the background would match there achivements.

Spelling Games

We have been learning to play trying to improve our reading skills by playing spelling games because in our class we have quite a number of people in our class in their reading test the teachers can tell what we need work on. The think that we need help on our recognizing with big words. I have been playing the word find game and I really liked this not just because it is fun but also because it helps me in reading.

Can Dos

We were making word clines. If we do this activity we improve our writing skill by learning new word but we also can use these words in our writing.

Word Cline

I have been trying to use new words for my writing and I thought if I did this activity, it would improve my writing skills. Each time it is going up the cline the words are getting interesting and even ore interesting. 

Word Study

Our task is to find the meanings of these 3 interesting words, and fill out the grid below.  You can use the dictionary and the internet to help you understand more about these words.

I think I did really well because it was really easy for me. I think I need to be creative with the colour but not to creative.

Key into Evaluation

LI: Evaluation requires the skills or reorganization and inference. Answers must come from the information in the story. Look for key words. Consider the author’s purpose (PIE)We have been learning to try.

How to cook Terotero

I have been reading about people the eat Terotero. Terotero is an pig intestine. It has a receipt for the terotero. I liked learning about this topic even thought I didn't really know anything about it. I liked learning a receipt for terotero.
